Hello Friends and Neighbors.  Life is good here in Franklin County!   My wife Vera and I LOVE this County!!

We moved from the hustle and bustle of Davis County Utah, 8 years ago, and found our little piece of paradise here in Franklin County.  This is HOME for us.  I grew up in Layton back when it was small and quiet.  I lived in the same house in West Layton my entire life.  I worked hard, even as a child, on my Grandpa's farm, raising cattle and growing crops. Driving tractors and farm equipment was second nature to me.  Layton and Davis County have grown too much for my taste, I longed for some place smaller, like the West Layton area that I grew up in.  So in 2012 we bought our first home in Franklin, and I commuted back and forth on the weekends until I could join my family full-time after my retirement in 2013.  We lived in Franklin for 3 years in the beautiful Maple Creek Canyon area.  Then we made a 10 month stop off in Whitney - while we built our house (the folks in Whitney are amazing and it was tempting to stay put there!!)  In 2016 we built a home in the Glendale area, our neighbors here are wonderful, as they have been everywhere that we've lived in Franklin County. This County is amazing and we really love it and have the best neighbors and friends here. I love hunting and fishing here in Idaho.  I especially love hunting for pheasant, duck, deer and elk. I love spending time with my family and grandbabies.

I have 22 years experience in law enforcement. I have enjoyed my career so much!   I retired in 2013 as a Sergeant.  I'm 51 years old and I've been married for 30 years. We have four wonderful children and three awesome grandchildren.  I'm fluent in Spanish.  I served a 2-year mission in Peru, and the Spanish language has served me well in my law enforcement career.

I've had an FFL license for 8 years, I buy and sell firearms at my shop in Glendale/Preston and at gun shows in the Intermountain West States.  I'm an FBI certified hostage negotiator and crisis intervention officer, FTO officer, POST instructor for firearms (handgun, shotgun, patrol rifle, precision rifle) Advanced instructor in firearms, POST instructor for Spanish Introduction for officers, ACT (hand-to-hand combat instructor), TASER instructor, Firearms Armorer, Concealed Weapons Instructor. I have many hours of experience writing policies and applying for departmental grants.  I worked for the Weber County Sheriff's office and the Clinton City Police department, where I retired.

I have experience in one of the Largest Counties in Utah and in Clinton City, that had 20,000 residents.  I plan on working to get grants that will greatly improve the quality of gear, the quantity of officers and the protection of the citizens in Franklin County.   I will certainly do my very best for the citizens of Franklin County.
